There are several nationwide health screening programs.
One program screens women aged 30-60 for cervical cancer once every five years.
Screening for breast cancer occurs every 2 years for women aged 50-75.
Screening for other cancers is not routine in the Netherlands. However, if you are in a high-risk group you will be monitored and screened regularly.
You should discuss this with your family doctor who will refer you to a specialist, if necessary.
There are private medical centers where you can have screening and testing done, but medical insurance companies do not typically cover these costs.
