    BSN Requirements

    In order to obtain your BSN at the IWCN, you need to prepare some documents in advance. Check the requirements:

    • EU/EEA citizens
    • Non-EU/EEA citizens

    You also need an address located in one of our associated Municipalities. You can prove it by bringing one of the following documents:

    • A rental/tenancy agreement (which should have already started on or before the IWCN appointment date and is signed by both parties).
    • A home purchase agreement.
    • For applicants lodging with someone: a copy of the main occupant's identification and the completed address registration permission form.
    • For applicants who have permission from their employer to temporarily (less than 3 months) register at the legal street address of the employer: completed address registration permission form from the company (ask the IWCN for this form: formalities@iwcn.nl).

    PLEASE NOTE: non–EU/EEA/Swiss family members of EU citizens should follow the residence permit procedure outlined here. The procedure cannot be done at the IWCN, but should be done at an IND office.     Is there anything else that is important for us to know?
    Usually, we need at least a week to prepare for Municipal appointments. Municipality appointments take place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and on some Wednesday afternoons from September through November.
