We are looking for a creative and marketing-minded soul with excellent social media and content creation skills to join our Marketing Communications Team!
Who are we?
The International Welcome Center North is aimed at international professionals who come to live and work in Groningen, Friesland, and Drenthe, and at companies and knowledge institutions who employ, or wish to employ, internationals.
The IWCN provides:
- Formalities at one location (IND residence permits and Municipal registration)
- Practical information on living, working, and studying in the Northern Netherlands
- Independent and reliable referrals to associated service providers
- Activities, events, and integration programs for internationals and businesses who employ them
What you will be doing:
- Create engaging content for LinkedIn
- Coordinate and ensure that all contents on LinkedIn are posted as planned. You know to work together with other team members when necessary.
- Actively engage with and expand IWCN’s network, also improve our brand awareness through LinkedIn
- Write monthly newsletters for our business network
- Help create content for other social media of IWCN when needed
- Help with other Marketing Communications Team’s tasks (for example, occasional graphic design tasks)
Requirements
- Strong affinity with LinkedIn. You understand what content people on LinkedIn enjoy and you can utilize LinkedIn’s algorithm to your advantage
- You can create professional social media content based on our brand) (we offer access to Canva Pro and full Adobe Creative Cloud)
- You speak and write excellent English
- You are a responsible person and able to work autonomously, but still in cooperation with the Marketing Communications Team
- You can communicate effectively with the rest of the IWCN team (namely, Events, Business, and Information Teams)
- You must already have the right to live and work in the Netherlands

- IWCN has a cheerful and hardworking team with committed people from different backgrounds; all service-minded and with a heart and care for the work. Therefore, your skills, personality, and fit within the team are very important to us.
- IWCN is a foundation with a board of directors of various stakeholders and is guided daily by the Management Team (Business Manager, Operations Manager, Team Leaders, and Management Assistant).
- This position is for 0.6 FTE based on a 38-hour week (22.8 hours/week). Your payment will be determined based on the functional scale 6.5 of one of our stakeholders, the University of Groningen. Salary: €1,752 gross/month (scale 6.5 of RUG scale); 8% vacation pay in May; paid vacation days as accrued
- If you live further than 11 km from the office (Gedempte Zuiderdiep 98, Groningen), your travel expenses will be reimbursed.
