Get to know the north through Welcome to NL platform

Welcome to NL is a platform designed to inform people considering moving to the Netherlands from abroad about what working and living here is really like for internationals.

For the north

Alongside useful information about Dutch work and life on a national level, Welcome to NL also has profiles about each province in the Netherlands. Every area has a dedicated section with specifics about local industry trends, facts and figures, features on regional start-up hubs, highlights from the biggest employers, and other useful tools for would-be residents.

Welcome to NL aims to make it easier for international talent to make an informed decision about settling in the Netherlands.

The site also provides information about what life is like after moving here and getting settled, from the education system for kids, health care, socialising, learning Dutch, and helpful insights into what makes Dutch culture unique.

For companies

If you are a company in the north looking to recruit highly skilled employees from abroad, Welcome to NL can also help! The platform shares information with people considering moving to the Netherlands about living, visiting, working, and making investments in this country.

Welcome to NL covers Dutch business culture, innovative sectors, information for start ups, permits and financial matters, and personal testimonials from successful international business owners, making it a helpful national resource for attracting talent to our country and to your organisation.

Welcome to NL will also be launching an app designed to make the process of relocating to the Netherlands even easier for newcomers, with tailored information for each province of the country as well as a handy overview of national labour laws relevant to internationals. Incoming residents will see content based on their specific situation, including their nationality, the region they will be moving to and the purpose of their stay. The app will be available to the public in early October, so keep an eye out for it in the app store.

The platform and app are the result of a collaboration among the Talent Coalition partners, including International Welcome Centre North. The project was commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. Partners in the Talent Coalition are International Newcomers Amsterdam, Brainport Eindhoven, The Hague International Centre, International Welcome Center Utrecht Region, Nuffic, Rotterdam Partners, Techleap.nl, Innovation Quarter, Universities of the Netherlands, and Expat Centre Maastricht Region.
