Water Services

When you move into your house, you should notify the water company of the change in residence and give them the meter reading. Water is connected to your house when you move in.

Payments are made quarterly through the regional water companies:

Groningen: Waterbedrijf Groningen 050-368 86 88

Drenthe: WMD Water 0592-85 45 00

Friesland: Vitens 0900-0650 or 088-884 50 60

Utility expenses vary by company, personal usage, and number of people in your household. You can generally expect to pay the following monthly rates, based on normal Dutch usage per person:

Water: ~€10-€20 per month

Dutch tap water is high quality, and therefore drinkable.
