Are you looking to to connect with other writers and have fun with fellow word lovers? Then WordPlayers is perfect for you. Held by the Writers Club in Groningen, WordPlayers is open to anyone with at least a B1/B2 level of English. At WordPlayers, the accent is on playing lively writing and word games that spark your creativity and might even inspire you to author a short story, a play, a poem, or whatever!

When: The last Thursday of the month. In 2024 the dates are:
January 25 / February 29 / March 28 /April 25 / May 30 / June 27 /July 25 /Summer break in August / September 26 / October 31/ November 28/ December 19 (nb: 3rd Thursday of the month because of Christmas)

IWCN volunteer Ragini Werner is the coordinator of the Writers Club. Ragini is an editor for Dutch academics writing in English (NEEDSer.nl) and a published author. Her short stories have appeared in literary magazines in New Zealand, Belgium, the Netherlands and the United States. Her new novel Becoming Janice is being published in April 2024 by Iguana Books. A coming-of-age story set in London and Amsterdam, Becoming Janice follows her acclaimed debut novel Revealing Philippa, set in the wilds of New Zealand.
