Come join us for Walk and Talk Leeuwarden – an informal get together for nature and conversation lovers! Grab your walking shoes and meet for a nice walk in the crisp autumn air.
This walk will be held at the Groene Ster (Green Star) on Sunday 29, October at 11:00. We will meet in front of the Snack Shop close by parking lot #2. After the walk, for those interested, we will drive/bike/walk across the road to the Restaurant De Groote Wielen for lunch …or just a drink.
The Groene Ster is a beautiful recreational area of approximately 1000 hectares, and is located on the east side of Leeuwarden. From the sixties onwards, the area was developed into a large recreation area, initially located in the municipality of Tietjerksteradeel, and was added to Leeuwarden in 1984. In the area there are sunbathing areas, beaches, ponds, forests and hiking trails.
