IWCN Webinar | Healthcare in the Netherlands

Getting sick is unfortunate, no matter which country you are in, but the situation can be made worse when you don’t know how to access the right care for you in another country.

The Netherlands has a high-quality healthcare system but it does work differently than most healthcare systems in other countries. Knowing who to turn to when you need care or experience a medical emergency might ease the pain even a little. For instance, did you already know that the role of the family doctor or general practitioner (huisarts) is central for any medical treatment in the Netherlands?

Together with our Service Provider, Gezondheidscentrum Groningen, we will discuss the most important aspects of the Dutch healthcare system that you need to know.

During our online info session, we will cover the following topics:

• a general overview of the Dutch healthcare system
• the role of the “huisarts” and how to find one
• what to do in case of emergencies
• health insurance and how it works

The presentation will take around 45 minutes after which we’ll have time for a round of questions.
