A part-time job can be a great way to gain work experience and meet new people (and of course, the extra bucks don’t hurt!). However, finding a part-time job can be quite challenging for international students, especially if you are a non-EU student who might be bound by some restrictions due to your student residence permit.
You might wonder: Am I even allowed to work? Where do I start?
That’s why Make it in the North, together with the International Welcome Center North, is hosting the “How to Find a Student Job?” event. This event aims to help students discover part-time job opportunities in the North, such as working at cafés, supermarkets, or retail stores. It also aims to help non-EU students understand the rules and regulations regarding having a part-time job based on their residence permit.
Program:
15:00 – 15:15: Walk-in and Registration
15:15: Opening by Make it in the North
15:20 – 15:50: “Rules and Regulations: Permit, TWV, Hours” by International Welcome Center North.
15:50: Recruit a Student
16:00 – 16:15: Break
16:15 – 16:45: “How to Look for a Student Job?” by Make it in the North
16:45 – 17:00: Open Q&A Session – Ask any questions about finding work in the Northern Netherlands.
