Opening a Dutch Bank Account
A Dutch bank account is required for every entrepreneur’s application.
Here is a short explanation of bank accounts in the Netherlands:
Private Bank Accounts
Dutch law requires banks to know the identity of every customer. You will need a BSN number (available from your municipality on arrival) and proof of ID, although some banks do offer the possibility to open an account without a BSN with restricted access to the account. After providing the BSN number (within 90 days) you will get full access.
Business Bank Accounts
ID is required to open a business account, as well as your company’s Chamber of Commerce number. If you do not yet have a Chamber of Commerce number and you have a startup permit, ask the bank which documents they need.
