Taxi
The taxi system in the Netherlands is well regulated to ensure passenger safety and fair competition.
Taxis in the Netherlands are generally not hailed from the street like in some other countries. Instead, they can be ordered by phone or you can find taxi stands at certain locations, such as train stations, airports, and popular tourist destinations.
The fares are government regulated and are based on distance and time travelled. There is a minimum fare for a taxi ride and additional charges may apply for things like luggage, late-night rides, and airport pickups. Taxis can be recognized by the lit “taxi” sign on their roof and blue license plates.
