University of Groningen executive board pleased with continuation of International Welcome Center North

In a statement shared on the University of Groningen’s intranet for academic and support staff, the executive board of the RUG announced their vote in favor of IWCN’s new status as an independent foundation.

The RUG will be represented in the new foundation by José Weitenberg, HR & Health director at University Services. “The university has been a part of the board of IWCN since its founding in 2014. The center plays an absolutely crucial role in attracting and retaining international talent at the RUG. I’m very pleased that their continued services will be guaranteed in this new form.”
