Starting from 8 March 2021, the IND (Immigration Service) requires that new biometrics (photo, fingerprints and signature) be given for each new application, regardless of whether the application is for an extension of an existing type of permit or for a new permit type. Before this date, new biometrics were only required each time for children, or every five years for adults.
With this new regulation, after receipt of the application by the IND, people should contact either the IND or the IWCN (for certain types of permits) to make an appointment to give biometrics.
The IWCN is authorized by the IND to arrange appointment for the following types of permits: Highly-skilled migrants, Researchers, Orientation year, Intra-corporate transferees, Startup, Self-employed, EU Blue card, and the families of all of these.
An email can be sent to formalities@iwcn.nl, with the name and V-number of the person wishing to make an appointment for biometrics. The IWCN Formalities Team will answer by email with a suggested appointment time. Due to limited availability, appointments are required; no walk-ins allowed.
