Climate

Temperatures tend to be slightly cooler than the rest of the Netherlands due to the northerly position, although this difference is marginal. Temperatures during the winter tend to be above zero during the daytime, although cold snaps occur at some point every year where temperatures can easily reach -10°C.

Summer average highs are around the 22°C mark but 30°C + does occur occasionally. Like the rest of the Netherlands, the northern regions experience their fair share of rain, often unexpectedly, so carrying waterproof clothing can be helpful.
