Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel)

Established through two acts of parliament, in 1997 and 2007, the Kamer van Koophandel‘s (KvK) main role is to provide and maintain a full registry of all Dutch companies, and the use this registry to help other companies. It is compulsory for all business enterprises to register with the KvK, and so means that any businessperson can access the register and check on the status of potential business partners, clients and suppliers.

The KvK offers a number of reports from its register, that can be purchased for a small access fee, through the website [in English], where general business information can also be found. Additionally, the KvK also has regional offices, including in Groningen, Leeuwarden, and Emmen, where businesspeople can find practical information about running a company in the Netherlands.
