Online session: Dutch health insurance & GP

June 3, 2021

On Thursday 3 June, the IWCN in collaboration with Zorgverzekeringslijn and Studentarts, will be organizing an online informational session about Dutch health insurance and the Dutch GP: how do they work?

As an international in the Netherlands, you probably already know that having a health insurance is obligatory. But exactly how does Dutch health insurance work? How do you choose the health insurance that’s best for you; and do you need all the addon packages? Zorgverzekeringslijn will give an introduction about Dutch health insurance, and you will be able to ask further questions.

We’ve frequently heard that internationals get confused by the Dutch GP, who in many cases serves to refer you to other specialists (rather than going directly to a specialist). But when does your GP do this; when do you go to your GP and when do you go somewhere else; and what can you expect of your GP? StudentArts will give an intro about Dutch GPs and answer any questions you have.

If you have questions about COVID-19 vaccinations and care, they will not be answered during this session; but you can attend our COVID-19 vaccinations and safety in the Netherlands informational session instead (or go to both!).

Please note that there is a maximum of 100 participants, and it’s first come first serve, so if you wish to attend, register as soon as possible!
