After hours and emergency healthcare

For all medical and other emergencies: call 112. You will be connected to the police, the fire brigade, or the ambulance service. If the situation is not life threatening, call your family doctor or the after-hours doctors’ service for your province before calling 112. Almost all hospitals (ziekenhuizen) have emergency room treatment. Look for the “Eerste Hulp” sign if you go directly to the hospital. For urgent medical assistance during off-hours (after 17:00 hrs and before 8:00 hrs, at the weekend or on holidays), call the provincial after-hours doctor service:
